Design Engineer / Program Manager

Main responsibilities and duties :

Reporting to the Regional Development Center / Product Line Manager


Provide support to Sales and Product Line Departments to ensure the success of Customer programs.   The Program Manager may be designated as the lead under the responsibility of the Pilot. Support activities may include, but are not limited to:


  • Perform engineering change RFQ’s by initiating, tracking and submitting quotes (with validation of the Sales Director) as required by the customer or internally
  • Conduct Contract Review (under the responsibility of Sales) against quoted pricing as part of an engineering change Launch Order
  • Support the initiation and tracking of project Quality and Timing Plans, including costs and recovery (customer and internal). Can be designated as the lead in the Project Team for the Timing Plan
  • Liaise between and amongst customer and internal departments to drive customer satisfaction
  • Prepare for, coordinate and lead customer launch readiness reviews as required
  • Communicate manufacturing feasibility to the customer
  • Collaborate on key platform strategies and new business targets
  • Can be designated as the lead on Purchasing CDC’s specifications
  • Support Launch Financials (QCA in Development) with the Product Line
  • Participant in AKWEL Project Reviews
  • CONFIDENTIALITY: The Program Manager is bound by a strict duty of confidentiality with respect to all systems and data accessed within the normal course of his/her duties

Requirements :

Qualifications et Experience

  • A-level (High School Diploma) + minimum 4-years of higher education in Technical Science plus a B.S. in Engineering Discipline and proven Project/Program Management experience in leading customer interaction as it pertains to new and existing Tier 1 programs.

  • Respect of customer and internal timing and milestones


Technical knowledge

  • Proficiency in project management
  • Command of MS Office (Word, Excel…), SAP and MRP
  • Knowledge of rubber/plastics engineering beneficial
  • Experience with product failure mode analysis (FMEA) beneficial
