A first stop close to home (Vigo, Spain)

Our journey continues in Vigo, on the northwest coast of Spain. Founded in 1967, this factory has had many names, but only one passion: the automobile. This site marks the beginning of AKWEL’s international expansion in the 1990s. In addition to its production plant, Vigo has a center of excellence dedicated to the research and development of innovative products in the field of plastic mechanisms. More than 360 employees with a passion for cars are involved in the development of this site to reach a turnover of more than 75.2 M€ in 2021.  The Vigo facility is proud to have become a trusted third party for automotive manufacturers such as Stellantis, Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi and General Motors.
