AKWEL operates centers of excellence that support its customers in the international development of their products. Each year, approximately 5% of revenue is allocated to research and development to prepare for the mobility of tomorrow and to ensure access to state-of-the-art development and validation equipment.

We have implemented an eco-design strategy—from the procurement of raw materials to the recyclability of our products—and developed a circular economy model called “REMANufacturing” to minimize resource waste and environmental impact at every stage of our products’ life cycle.

Thermal management systems

Tubes

Our tubes are available in rubber, metal, TPV, and plastic (single- or multi-layer, smooth or corrugated) and are suitable for new coolant technologies (low thermal conductivity, low permeability).

Standard connectors

We offer a complete range of standard connectors (VDA SAE) for hybrid or electric vehicles (options include locking safety systems or modular systems to reduce connector variety).

Custom connectors

Our custom connectors are designed by a team dedicated to developing this type of product to meet our customers’ needs, such as accessibility issues and specific interfaces.

Dry break valves

Our patented dry break valve is designed to isolate the cooling system during maintenance (battery replacement) to prevent fluid leaks and reduce maintenance time.

Sensors

Our temperature sensors and temperature-pressure sensors are developed and manufactured in-house using a variety of materials. A specific line of overmolded sensors is designed for electric vehicles.

Washing systems

Windshield washer fluid tanks

Our tanks are designed for use in vehicles (passenger cars or heavy-duty trucks) and are equipped to meet our customers’ functional needs (pumps, level sensors, chutes, mounts, etc.).

Wash pumps

Our standard wash pumps deliver pressure up to 4 bar through 1 or 2 outlets to supply all of the vehicle’s wash points. They can be connected to 12- or 24-volt systems.

Our spray nozzles are designed to adapt to all vehicle shapes and surfaces, supporting the automation of vehicle washing systems that use cameras and LiDAR

Air systems

Internal combustion engine – hot air hoses

Our hot air hoses for turbocharger outlets are manufactured from materials suitable for high temperatures (injection or blow-by) and use silicone hoses fitted with metal quick-connect fittings.

Internal combustion engine – coolant hoses

Our coolant hoses, which connect heat exchangers to the engine’s air intake, are designed for operating temperatures below 120°C and feature reinforced rubber hoses for the flexible sections.

Internal combustion engine – clean air ducts

Our clean air ducts, available in various geometries are located downstream of the air filter, can be equipped with ¼-wave acoustic devices which are manufactured using various technologies, including rubber injection molding.

Air intake fuel cell – hot air ducting

Our hot air ducting is manufactured from a specialized silicone material that meets criteria for low chemical leaching and complies with “critical” cleanliness standards.

Air intake fuel cell – cold air ducting

Our cold air ducting, designed for the humidifier outlet, is injection-molded from a specialized silicone material and meets criteria for low chemical leaching while adhering to “critical” cleanliness standards.

Hoses

Our hoses are made of multilayer rubber or metal and are suitable for all types of oils, regardless of operating temperature.

Cylinder head covers

Our cylinder head covers, mounted on top of the engines, ensure sealing above the rocker arms, air/oil separation via high-performance patented systems, and full pressure regulation for the circulating gases.

Damper valves

Our custom-made damper valves feature a diaphragm that allows us to regulate airflow according to our customers’ needs. They are manufactured from materials that are resistant to heat and chemical exposure.

Blow-off plugs

Our captive dust plugs ensure that the circuit remains open and prevent foreign objects from entering the circuit from the engine compartment.

Mechanisms

Plastic mechanisms

Our interior and exterior door handle systems are compatible with all vehicles and functions. They can be customized with a variety of finishes and are compatible with both electronically controlled and manual motorized versions.

Metal mechanisms

Our locking systems (locks, strike plates) and hinge systems for hoods, rear/side doors, and tailgates are modular, lightweight, and compatible with all vehicle architectures. We also develop centering systems for sliding doors.

Pedal sets

Our pedal sets, made of plastic or metal, are suitable for both right-hand and left-hand drive vehicles. We also offer solutions for driving schools with specialized pedal sets.
